Did y’all have a good long weekend? My bros were in town. It was so good to see them, and for them to get to meet all my friends. We went and saw Star Trek and ate dinner on the beach and spent a lot of time just hanging out. They are such good dudes. I’m glad we’re related. We also went to Steveston for the afternoon on Saturday because it’s one of the few touristy things I haven’t done yet after living here for (almost) seven years.
The new The National album comes out today, in case you were wondering what I’ll be listening to for the next few weeks. Can we talk about how great this is? The song is killer and the kid playing air guitar has got power stance totally mastered.
I just really love my Roomie, ok? On Thursday last week I came home and had plans to clean the house (for my bro visit) and she had already done it. Like, sparkling floors all-the-dishes put away type clean. Sometimes she puts her retainer in and reads to me from the Song of Solomon when I’m feeling sad. I dare you to try and listen to someone say, “Your hair is like a flock of goats leaping down the slopes of Gilead!” with a retainer lisp and not laugh. She is the person who sees me at my absolute crabbiest and she still likes me. Super blessed that this girl is in my life, you guys. We are still looking for a third roommate for June or possibly July 1st. Interested? We’re really fun, I promise. I can give references.
One month until I am on a plane to Tanzania. One month. Four weeks of craziness and then liftoff. It will go by in the blink of an eye. It will feel like forever.
