Last weekend I went home for the wedding of my baby brother. I probably shouldn’t call him that any more since he is a husband now. Golly. Because I am the oldest (and wisest, most mature, etc) I’ve reached most of the major life milestones first—getting my driver’s license, finishing school and moving out of the house. But Mikey is a total trailblazer on this one and I couldn’t be prouder of him. I’m so, so, so happy to see him and Cheryl so so so happy. It was such a good day. Good to celebrate with them and good to see so many extended family members I haven’t seen in forever, especially the Calgary crew of aunts and uncles. I didn’t even make it to the ceremony before ruining my professional makeup job with tears. Here are few totally unofficial iPhone photos from the weekend.

Taken moments before I was banished to the task of making tape balls. I don’t have the spiritual gift of wedding decor

Right after getting my hair and makeup done, taking snapchat selfies in the mall like a 16 year old.

Yes, that is a Death Star wedding cake.

That they cut with a light saber.

Douze has caught the bouquet at every single wedding I’ve been to with her. We call her the Wedding Linebacker.

My new sister and law and my bros. I love my family you guys.
Thanks for sharing these photos. You were not ‘banished’ to making tape balls. It was all hands on deck, and that was the next job! You left out of this post that you played the prelude music for the wedding– nearly an hour of it!!! You must know that I absolutely loved to hear you play. So glad I could listen while putting up those roses and lights, and get in a second concert while we waited for the bride and groom to walk up the aisle. It was a great day, and we wish them every happiness in their new life together as one.
