Here I am, jetlagged but not, on the Monday after daylight savings time. Second coffee in hand, conversations from the weekend rolling around in my head. I just listened, mostly. To plans for the future that included new places, people and goals. Growing up and growing roots. Moving on. A change of seasons coming soon but not just yet.
Years ago, before I made the big move to the west coast, a mentor told me that one of the most important lessons in life is to learn to love people deeply and hold onto them loosely. A handful of them will be in your life forever. But most are there only for a season. A time to build up. A time to laugh. A time to love. A time to keep and a time to cast away.
We woke up Sunday morning and an hour was gone. Time to make room for a new season and let the light in.
